It means therapy that treats neurodivergence as a difference, not a disorder. Rather than trying to help you cope with or overcome being neurodivergent, we work with how your brain actually functions; your strengths, your challenges, and everything in between.
In practice it means you won't be expected to mask, over explain yourself, or adapt to an approach that was never designed for you. Communication can be flexible, sessions can be adapted, and your neurodivergence is understood as part of who you are, not a problem to be fixed. You won't have to apologise for going too fast, going too slow, or asking your therapist to repeat themselves.
All of our therapists are neurodivergent themselves, so this isn't us saying the right things. It's how we work and who we are.
Simply fill in our contact form with a little bit about yourself and what you're looking for. You don't need to have it all figured out, a rough idea is enough. We'll get back to you within 48 hours to arrange a free introductory call.
It's a short, informal 15–20 minute call (voice or video), with no pressure and no commitment. It's a chance for you to ask any questions, get a feel for the therapist, and for us to make sure we're the right fit for what you need. If it doesn't feel right, that's okay too.
This varies depending on which therapist you'd like to work with. Current availability is listed on each therapist's profile page. If your preferred therapist has a waiting list, we'll let you know the expected wait and whether another therapist might be a good fit in the meantime.
If the therapist is currently available we aim to offer you a session within 7 days, but this can vary depending on matching availability.
No. Many of our clients are self-identifying, exploring whether they might be neurodivergent, or are in the process of seeking a diagnosis. You don't need any paperwork or formal label to access therapy here.
We see you for who you know you are and if you aren't sure, that's fine too.
All sessions take place online, from wherever you feel comfortable. You just need a private space and a stable internet connection.
Your counsellor will let you know which online platform they use and can talk you through any steps if you need that help.
Most individual sessions are 50 minutes. Couples and parent support sessions are longer, details are on the fees page and individual therapist pages. Most clients meet weekly, especially at the start, but we can discuss what frequency works for you.
There's no fixed number. Some people come for a focused short term piece of work; others prefer longer term support. You're never locked in, and we'll review how things are going as we go. You're in control of that.
That's completely fine and it's a common question. Just tell us a little about what you're looking for in the contact form and Lorraine will match you with the therapist she thinks would be the best fit.
You can switch. One of the practical advantages of working with a practice rather than an individual therapist is that changing doesn't mean starting from scratch with a whole new organisation. Just let us know and we'll help you find a better fit within the team.
Yes, with the standard professional exceptions. Everything you share stays between you and your therapist, unless there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or a legal requirement to disclose. Your therapist will explain this fully in your first session, but if you have specific questions beforehand, just ask.
Absolutely. Several of our clients come to us after therapy experiences that left them feeling misunderstood, pathologised, or like they had to mask just to get through the session. You're welcome to talk about that, and it will genuinely inform how your therapist works with you.
