Therapy for neurodivergent adults
With therapists who understand your brain, not just your symptoms. Online counselling that is thoughtful, flexible, and genuinely neurodivergent-affirming.
We Understand Being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world can be exhausting
Many people come to therapy after years of masking, feeling misunderstood, or trying to make approaches designed for others work for them.
How to be Human is an online therapy practice created specifically to support neurodivergent adults. We aim to make therapy feel straightforward, calm, and genuinely supportive from the beginning.
You don’t need to explain the basics of neurodivergence here. You don’t need to perform or mask. You can just arrive as you are.
Meet the Founder Hi, I’m Lorraine
I'm an experienced neurodivergent psychotherapist and founder of How to be Human.
I created this practice after years of working with neurodivergent clients who often felt misunderstood in therapy. I wanted to build something simpler, more affirming, and easier to access.
How to be Human supports neurodivergent adolescents and adults with therapists who understand neurodivergence and can support them in ways that actually fit.
What We Do We provide online therapy for neurodivergent adults, including people who are:
- Autistic
- ADHD
- AuDHD
- Exploring whether they might be neurodivergent
- Late-diagnosed
- Self-identifying
Therapy often focuses on things like burnout, identity, relationships, boundaries, trauma, overwhelm, and understanding yourself more clearly.
You don’t need a diagnosis to work with us.
